For over 40 years, Treat Farm was a successful dairy farm owned and operated by Charles and Addie Treat. At one time, the farm spanned nearly 150 acres in both Orange and Milford.
Over the past 15 years, the farm has transformed into a popular seasonal farm stand and harvest-your-own Christmas tree operation. Beginning in mid-July, the farm sells a wide variety of vegetables, including delicious sweet corn, grown on site. In addition to sweet corn, many varieties of tomatoes, squash and peppers are picked fresh and sold daily through early October. Fall products, including beautiful chrysanthemums, pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks and Indian corn are added to the stand in late September, and are for sale through the end of October.

The farm closes its operations for most of November, and reopens the day after Thanksgiving for Christmas tree and wreath sales. Treat Farm has a wonderful selection of cut-your-own trees, with thousands of white spruce, blue spruce and Fraser fir trees available for purchase. Hand-decorated wreaths have become a specialty of the farm in recent years, and sell out quickly in early December.
We are excited to have our cousins joining us at the farm on Open Farms Day with a large display of antique tractors and farm equipment. Hayland Farm, also owned by Charles and Addie Treat, is now owned and operated by their daughter, Betty Gagel, and her family. Hayland Barn, located on Old Tavern Road, is the beautiful centerpiece of their farm.
